Zachary V. Edmonds , MD
Staff
Mountain View, CA
Zachary Edmonds began his academic career at Pomona College, majoring in neuroscience. He went on to complete the joint MD/MBA program at UCLA, with an emphasis in entrepreneurship. While in business school, he completed an internship at the former Guidant Corporation studying pricing strategy in the medical device industry. As a result of this experience he developed a profound interest in device-based diagnostics and therapeutics. Zachary went on to complete residency in Internal Medicine at Stanford Medical Center. In his three years as a resident, he witnessed countless examples of unmet clinical needs leading to patient suffering, inefficiencies, and cost. This motivated him to pursue formal training as an innovator within the Stanford Biodesign Fellowship. He completed the fellowship in June, 2008, and has since joined the
Palo Alto Foundation Medical Group (PAFMG) as a hospitalist based at
El Camino Hospital. He also consults for a variety of early stage device start-ups in the area.
Zachary's personal mission is to combine his Biodesign innovation training with his skills in clinical medicine and management to develop novel, cost-effective medical device solutions that directly impact patients and their families.
