Ross Venook , PhD

Engineer
Research and Development
Millbrae, CA

2006-07 Electrophysiology Fellow
Ross received his BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University in 2000 and 2002, respectively. His PhD work (also at Stanford, 2006) includes publications and presentations on automatic RF tuning electronics for MRI receiver coils, methods for cross-sectional imaging near metal orthopedic implants with Prepolarized MRI, and novel methods for monitoring and ensuring patient safety during interventional MRI procedures.

Ross enjoys the unique challenges and constraints offered by biomedical engineering projects, and he delights in the opportunity for collaborative teaching and learning in a problem-solving environment. He is currently getting to do all of this as a Technical Lead for the MRI safety effort at Boston Scientific Neuromodulation.

When not working to understand interactions between medical devices and MRI systems, Ross enjoys endurance sports and rediscovering the world from a new perspective with his wife and young sons.
