Bobby Robbins received his B. S. degree in Chemistry from Milsaps College and his M.D. from the University of Mississippi in Jackson, MS.
His current research interests include the development of fetal surgical intervention for congenital heart disease; manipulation of fetal immunologic development to induce tolerance for neonatal cardiac xenotransplantation; development of animal models of chronic allograft rejection (graft coronary disease and obliterative bronchiolitis) to evaluate pathogenesis and treatment; and the genetic manipulation of donor cardiac allografts to evaluate the effects on reperfusion injury, acute rejection, and chronic rejection.
He is the recipient of the New York Thoracic Society Resident Award, the Alpha Omega Alpha Resident Award and the General Surgery In-Service Award.
