Jan Pietzsch's research interests are in probabilistic systems analysis and innovation management. His recent research has focused on the assessment and evaluation of new medical technologies. The emphasis of this work is on providing decision support for industry and investors during design, development, and early testing, where evidence is still limited.

Dr. Pietzsch is co-founder, President and CEO of Wing Tech Inc., a management consulting firm active in the fields of technology assessment, advanced systems analysis, and strategic decision support. He also holds an appointment as Consulting Assistant Professor in the Department of Management Science and Engineering at Stanford University
