John Onopchenko is a Vice President in Johnson & Johnson Development Corporation, Johnson & Johnson's venture capital subsidiary. He invests primarily in early stage medical device companies or companies which will contribute to new or existing professional businesses for J&J. Over the last 19 years, John has progressively increased his responsibilities through the successful development and commercialization of six new-to-the-world technologies: surgical stapling, endoscopic surgery (United States Surgical Corporation), medical lasers (CooperVision), magnetic resonance imaging/spectroscopy, catheter-based therapies guided by digital fluoroscopy, (General Electric Medical Systems), and H2O2 gas plasma sterilization (Advanced Sterilization Products, a Johnson & Johnson company). His global leadership experiences include general management, business and product development, manufacturing/supply chain along with marketing and sales management. Mr. Onopchenko currently manages investments in 21 Johnson & Johnson Development Corporation portfolio companies located in the Western United States. Mr. Onopchenko received his Masters in Business from the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business and completed the Advanced Management Program at Oxford. Mr. Onopchenko is a member of the Licensing Executive Society and a registered representative with the National Association of Securities Dealers.
