Roula El-Asmar is the Biodesign Program Manager responsible for the smooth functioning of day-to-day operations across the program for multiple program initiatives. Her responsibilities extend across all support aspects of the program: financial and human resources management, fellowship and academic management, Biodesign career services activities, facilities management and new program development. She supervises staff to implement multiple concurrent programs and activities and coordinates among 10 primary faculty from the schools of business, engineering and medicine who are involved in various Biodesign Program educational activities (fellowships, courses, special events). Roula joined the Biodesign program after approximately a year and a half career with Stanford in Pediatrics. Prior to immigrating to California in 2002, Roula was the Human Resources Specialist for the American Embassy in Beirut, Lebanon during a very critical and challenging period.
