Ellen Koskinas is a Principal with InterWest Partners, a leading diversified venture capital firm with $1.6 billion under management. She invests primarily in medical device companies, but is also involved in making biotech investments. Ellen serves on the board of Applied Spine Technologies and Neuronetics. She is also an active observer on the boards of CardioMind, Epicor, Cellomics, NeuroPace, Corgentech and Paracor. Ellen has spent her career in the life sciences field, in strategic, operating and investment roles. Prior to InterWest, Ellen was a Managing Director at Seven Hills Partners, a start-up venture capital firm, where she spearheaded new investments in the life sciences sector. Previously, Ellen held multiple roles in marketing and business development at Guidant Corporation, where she started a new business in Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery (currently $80 million in sales) and then led Guidant?s acquisition of CardioThoracic Systems. Ellen has also served as an Engagement Manager for McKinsey & Company, managing projects for a broad range of pharmaceutical, health care delivery and medical device clients. At the outset of her career, Ellen worked in Corporate Finance at Morgan Stanley in New York and London. Ellen received her MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and her BA in Economics, cum laude, from Harvard University.
