David Feigal , MD

Dr. Feigal holds an M.D. degree from Stanford University and an M.P.H. from the University of California Berkeley. He did his internal medicine residency training at the University of California at Davis and a fellowship in clinical epidemiology at the University of California at San Francisco. He joined the UCSF School of Medicine faculty in 1984 with joint appointments in the Departments of Medicine and Epidemiology and Biostatistics. In 1989 he moved to the Department of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego. He came to the Food and Drug Administration in 1992 and headed CDER?s Antiviral Drug Division, the Anti-Infective Drug Division and ODE IV. In the fall of 1997, he moved to the CBER as the Medical Deputy Director. In the spring of 1999 Dr. Feigal became the Director, Center for Devices and Radiological Health. At CDRH he has been an advocate for the Center?s Science and Education programs and worked with Congress and Industry to launch a user fee program that will lay the ground work for CDRH in the future. In 2004 he stepped down from CDRH to relocate in Phoenix, Arizona and is a Partner in NDA Partners, LLP and has resumed a research and teaching in medical product development and consumer protection.
