Bryant was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He moved to the Boston area to attend MIT where he received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. While at MIT, he was a finalist in the LEGO Robotics competition and developed a wirelessly distributed electronic medical record system. His graduate research, which was supported by an MIT Research Assistant Scholarship, involved examining the electromechanical properties of cartilage. After MIT, Bryant worked at Arthur D. Little as a management consultant where he was heavily involved in new technology evaluations and financial modeling. He was awarded two "Star Case" awards for his client work as a consultant. Bryant received his MD from the Tufts University School of Medicine where he won the Fahey Award for Physical Diagnosis and the Zarren Family Award for Excellence in Cardiology and where he was a finalist in the Charlton Research Competition. He has published peer-reviewed articles and abstracts in Cardiology, Orthopedics and Endocrinology. Recently, he completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Tufts-New England Medical Center before coming to Stanford where he is currently a Cardiac Electrophysiology Research Fellow. A serial entrepreneur, Bryant was the lead co-founder of cPref, Inc. which provides innovative market research surveying software and solutions. He was instrumental in raising almost $1 Million in funding for the company. His most recent venture is mFurniture, LLC which he co-founded with his wife last year. mFurniture enables its customers to design in 3-D, customize and then buy high-end hardwood furniture from its website. An inveterate tinkerer, Bryant enjoys building electronic gadgets. His most ambitious project was building a small volume blood coagulation meter in his friend's kitchen.
