Ms. Macfarlane joined ForSight Labs as President and CEO in March of 2007. Ms. Macfarlane brings broad experience in early stage company creation to ForSight Labs. Over the past six years, ForSight has started five ForSight VISION companies, that have collectively raised over $100M in capital, and are focused on breakthrough therapies for ophthalmology, including glaucoma, corneal surgery and treatment of posterior segment ocular disorders.

Prior to joining the ForSight Labs team full-time, Ms. Macfarlane served as Chief Technology Counsel to The Foundry. From 1999 through 2004, Ms. Macfarlane served as Technology Counsel for Thomas J. Fogarty, M.D., a renowned physician/entrepreneur. In addition, Ms. Macfarlane served as in-house counsel at several medical device start-up companies, including TransVascular, Inc. (purchased by Medtronic), AneuRx, Inc. (purchased by Medtronic), and VidaMed Inc. (IPO, purchased by Medtronic).

In addition to leading the ForSight incubator, Ms. Macfarlane serves as CEO of the early stage VISION companies, and is currently a board member of NEXIS VISION Inc., ForSight VISION4, Inc. and ForSight VISION5, Inc. Ms. Macfarlane received her BA in Business Administration from San Francisco State University, and her J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law.
