Robson Capasso , MD



Robson Capasso is currently the Director of Sleep Surgery and Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at Stanford University School of Medicine. His quite extensive and unique training includes medical school and residency in his native Brazil, and further residencies and fellowships in the USA. Dr. Capasso has published and reviewed book chapters, articles and original papers in peer-reviewed journals, and has been an investigator on imaging and endoscopic modalities for pre-treatment evaluation, and surgical treatment of obstructive sleep apnea patients.

The global recognition of his work is often associated with one of his favorite tasks: lecturing and trading knowledge around the world.

His initial involvement with the Stanford University Biodesign program initiated as a fellowship mentor with pre-clinical and led to the development of projects in the Bay area and in Singapore.

Being part of the med-tech ecosystem in Silicon Valley, he has been involved as a co-founder, consultant or advisor for start-ups, well-established companies or investors, with roles including identification and development of new concepts, clinical studies, structuring and diligence.

Currently he is involved in Biodesign initiatives related to Latin-American countries, and his goal is to utilize this acquired experience to foster the creation and expansion of life-science companies in these countries.
