Varun Boriah is Co-founder and CEO of Lully. He was the Cottrell Specialty Fellow at the Stanford Biodesign Fellowship. Previously, he was CEO and a co-founder of CardioCanary Inc, a start-up focused on developing a wearable, on-patient blood monitoring device. Prior to CardioCanary, he was a Mechanical Engineer at ArKal Medical Inc, a company developing a minimally invasive continuous glucose monitoring system for the management of diabetes. At ArKal, he led and managed microfluidics development from proof-of-concept through commercial product development. He has served as a consultant to start-ups in the aesthetics, pain management and transdermal drug delivery space.

Varun holds a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley and a Bachelors of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology - Karnataka, India. He was the recipient of the University Gold Medal in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology - Karnataka. He was a 2012 Fellow in the Startup Leadership Program - Silicon Valley and a 2013 TEDMED Frontline Scholar.
