BIOE 374: Biodesign Innovation - What Students are Saying!
Ours is one of the most popular engineering courses on campus.
Here's what students who have taken the class in prior years have
to say about their experiences:
A fantastic course. I am very lucky to have seen this in the course
catalog last fall when I got to Stanford. I thank the staff and
faculty for giving me this opportunity to pursue the medtech industry,
which had been my career goal since I was a kid.
Radiation
Oncology, Postdoc
Definitely different from all other classes I had taken at Stanford
and I'm very glad I took the class.
5th
year, Bioengineering PhD student
Overall, I found the course extremely valuable and learned a
lot about the medical device innovation process.
Second
Year, MBA
I think the Biodesign Innovation Program is absolutely
fantastic. I really enjoyed BIOE374A; it is the BEST class I have
taken. I am really excited about developing the necessary skills
through this program.
SCPD
(distance) Student
Very good course, perhaps one of the best offered on campus.
2nd
Year, MBA
The Biodesign course is the most useful course
I have taken at Stanford. Please keep bringing in leaders in
med devices, as I learned from them in 1 hour what would have
otherwise taken months or years to learn on my own.
2nd
year Masters, Mechanical Engineering
It's the best class ever! I love this class. The knowledge
from this class is very useful and I think it will help me a great
deal in my future career! It's absolutely the best class I've ever
taken.
2nd
year Masters, Mechanical Engineering
It was an excellent class. I really enjoyed it and got
a much better view and idea of how the med-tech start-ups are organizing
and being managed.
PhD,
Mechanical Engineering
Truly a great course! I felt like I learned a lot, and that I
will be able to use a lot of this information as I progress in
my career in the medical device industry.
2nd
year Masters, Mechanical Engineering
As a whole this has probably been my best experience in my Master's
program so far, rivaled only by a full year design course.
2nd
Year Masters, Mechanical Engineering
I was a student of yours in the 2004- 2005 Biodesign Innovation course. Since that time, I've spent some time at Merck in the vaccines area and as an analyst at a Philadelphia based VC firm. I am now an MD/PhD student at Baylor College of Medicine. I credit much of my success to the things I learned from your course.
